Emmy award winning actor and playwright Leslie Jordan, known for roles in shows and movies such as “Will & Grace”, “Sordid Lives”, “American Horror Story”, “The Help” and “Designing Women”, takes the stage Fayetteville for a special one-night only performance during the 10th annual NWA Equality Night presented by Walmart. Celebrate a decade of courage and progress by LGBTQ people while raising funds to support our lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community, and a new Arkansas Alumni Association scholarship for University of Arkansas students passionate about LGBTQ issues.

Jordan's new show, "Straight Outta Chattanooga"  features colorful stories, insightful anecdotes and hilarious memories of his childhood in – and ultimate escape to the lights of Hollywood from – Chattanooga, Tennessee. “I fell out of the womb and landed in my mama’s high heels," Jordan jokes. Fans will be in stitches at his newest collection of stories and perspectives, which reflect upon his journey and reaffirm his reputation as one of comedy’s best storytellers.

The Northwest Arkansas Center for Equality (NWA Equality), Arkansas’ largest nonprofit serving LGBTQ residents began hosting the annual event 10 years go as a community celebration for LGBTQ people and allies while also raising critical dollars for important programs – from free HIV testing and peer support groups to the region’s annual Pride celebration. This year, NWA Equality is teaming up with the Arkansas Alumni Association’s PRIDE Alumni Society to establish the new scholarship for University of Arkansas students.
