Lori Rivera brings together FCC's wonderful jazz ensemble with friends Tammi Brown and Rabbi Paula Marcus--for an evening of great jazz, glorious soul and spoken word.  Playing off the mystical genius of Kahlil Gibran (author of Jesus Son of Man and other masterpieces), Lori and friends offer their unique mix of spirit, compassion and inspiring tunes.

For ten years, Lori Rivera and Art Alm have coordinated FCC's dynamic jazz ministry.  Their ability to move us, inspire us AND get us dancing is unparalleled!  And this benefit will do all those things, supporting the church's mission in many areas, including COPA, county jails, a shelter for the homeless and the effort for Middle East Peace.  Lori and Art are joined in this concert by dear friends and FCC musicians: Steve Uccello, Zach Ohlsen, Brad Hecht and Renata Bratt.

Special guests will make the evening just that much more unique and joyous.  Rabbi Paula Marcus is a dear friend of the church.  As one of the rabbis at Temple Beth El in Aptos, Rabbi Marcus has collaborated with FCC and COPA on a number of social justice initiatives.  She and Pastor Dave Grishaw-Jones have led interfaith delegations to Israel and Palestine, and they plan another for the fall of 2014.

Tammi Brown is a local and international jazz and gospel legend, bringing her own musical genius and huge heart to music that imagines peace and stirs hope in the human heart.

JOIN US--on Holy Saturday, the night before Easter--as we celebrate the moral imagination of Jesus, the unique poetry of Kahlil Gibran, and the mission of First Congregational Church in Santa Cruz!
