Q: I am a Citadel cadet. Is there a special sign up process for me?


A: All cadets will run in formation for the Lt Dan 5K by company. ?Cadets should contact LTC Rich in the commandant's office for company assignment.  You will not register on this site or have to pay anything to run.  If you've already registered let me know.  


Q: Are strollers okay?


A: Yes. Strollers, jogging Strollers and walkers are welcome. 


Q:  Is registration still open? 


A:  Yes.  Registration is still open.  We have not hit our max quota yet.  Online Registration will close at 9/14 6am ET.  


Q: I know 9/1 was the published date to receive a guaranteed t-shirt. Do you still have any t-shirts left and will I get one?


A: I ordered t-shirts based on the number of registered runners on 9/1 plus a pretty optimistic swag on the anticipated number of registered runners on race day. At the current registration count (on 9/9) we haven't hit the total number of t-shirts I ordered.  This means those that registered by 9/1 get a guaranteed t-shirt by the size they indicated.  Those that registered after 9/1 will get t-shirts at registration on a first come, first serve basis.  


Q: How do I get my FREE concert ticket with my 5K race registration?


A: Concert tickets will be delivered at the time of race registration.  Please arrive sufficiently early. Registration opens at 7:30a.


Q:  Is the course USATF certified? 


A:  We are using a local Timer company called Charlestown Road Race Services.  The course is measured and marked for 5K.  Although we did not submit for the offical USATF certification, it is measured. 


Q: Where does it start and end?


A: The course starts/finishes at the Bulldog on Hagood Ave. and proceeds north around Hampton Park and the Citadel.  See the map of the course on MapMyRun here:  http://www.mapmyrun.com/routes/copy/235331673/.  Please note:  MayMyRun will indicate 3.21 miles but the course is measured to exactly 3.1 miles or 5K.  


Q: Will there be a bag drop?


A: Yes.  You may leave your bags at registration and pick them up after the race.

The Lt Dan 5K Race is intended to raise money and awareness for the all-volunteer, Independence Fund's mission of providing the tools, therapies and guidance for the more than 60,000 veterans severely injured in the War on Terror that they are otherwise not receiving. With the help of 20 – 30 volunteers this event is anticipated to draw around 1,000 participants and raise approximately $50,000.?

Register before September 1st to receive the official 5K t-shirt, and come back that evening to see Gary Sinise and his Lt Dan Band perform their benefit concert for The Independence Fund at Haggod stadium.

Registration opens at 7:30am at the Bulldog at Hagood Ave and Congress St. Please arrive sufficiently early.
