GRG vs MCR Roller Derby Bout-Slamdog Millionaire
SLAMDOG MILLIONAIRE – ROLLER DERBY & BOLLYWOOD UNITE
Bollywood is coming to Bozeman – roller derby style!
The Gallatin Roller Girlz invite you to attend SlamDog Millionaire, the 2nd to last bout of the 2015 Home Season. On Saturday, August 22 at the Gallatin County Fairgrounds’ Haynes Pavilion, SlamDog Millionaire pits GRG’s Mountain Mayhem against the Magic City Rollers from Billings. This Montana showdown promises to have all the color and zeal of an Indian Bazaar.
Henna, bangles, saris and bindis are encouraged for this Bollywood-themed event. Costumed attendees aged 18+ get first crack at limited trackside seating (aka Suicide or Nose Bleed seats). A halftime costume contest will award a prize for best dressed!
This family- friendly event features food by Bubby’s, a no-host bar by Bar IX, raffles, games and prizes. Half-time entertainment provided by Chicks with Sticks. Music by DJ Chachi.
Tickets for SlamDog Millionaire are $8 in advance / $10 at the door – KIDS 10 and under enter for FREE!
Doors open at 7pm, Bout starts at 7:30pm with the after party to follow at Bar IX. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Eagle Mount, providing therapeutic recreational activities for people with disabilities. For more information visit, www.eaglemount.org.
The Gallatin Roller Girlz are a 501(c)3 federal non-profit and achieved WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) apprenticeship designation this past year. This bout is a ‘mock sanctioned’ WFTDA bout, part of the process required of the Gallatin Roller Girlz to become a full member WFTDA league, allowing for ranking at national and international level. This upcoming bout marks the third time the Gallatin Roller Girlz have faced off against the Magic City Rollers and the only home bout hosted against another Montana-based league.
