Billings, Snowmo Intro to Avalanches w/ Field

Classroom: Wed and Thursday, January 22 and 23, 2014; 6-9 pm
Field: Cooke City, Sunday, January 26; 8:30am-3pm
Location: Hi-Tech Motorsports in Billings- classroom; Cooke City Chamber of Commerce, Main Street - field session
Topics covered include: avalanche terrain recognition, the affect weather has on avalanche hazard, the development of the mountain snowpack, decision making skills, and basic search and rescue procedures. Participants in the field session will each need a reliable snowmobile and basic mountain riding skills. An avalanche rescue beacon and shovel are required.
Hi-Tech Motorsports, Scheel's Sporting Goods, and The Scott Herren Memorial Fund are donating a combined $20/per participant to reduce the cost of this course. Cost is $60.00 instead of $80!!
