EAST HIGH REUNION 1987 / 1988 / 1989
Hi all!
As you know, we went to an excellent school. With time + age, we can appreciate more what we didn't when we were young. One of those things are the connections we made, or maybe didn't get the chance to make. Old wounds to heal. Friendships to rekindle. An opportunity to visit with and appreciate all the people and personalities from East High.
Because we want to see as many of you as possible from each class, we are making this a free event at a local park.
We will have self-pay food truck/s to serve us delicious food and beverages:
Shylo's Mobile Cafe: sandwiches, salads, and steak fries (vegan options)
Silver Moon Tacos: elevated street-style tacos, salads, quesadillas (vegan options)
Both trucks were featured in Salt Plate City's Best Food Trucks in Utah January 2023. They were recommended by event staff from SLUG and City Weekly and have great online reviews. Food items will run $5 - 15 and they will also offer drinks.
However, there are costs involved. Reunion committee members and the class of 1988 have already donated funds to help cover food truck deposits, but we may need more to make sure the vendors are taken care of and for other, miscellaneous costs. Here's how you can help:
- Come to the event and buy food and drink at the food trucks!
- Send our planning committee any donation amount, from $5+, to help cover costs and make this a fun event for all
Other details:
- We will have printed name tags for all graduated students. (If you were in the yearbook, we'll have a nametag for you.)
- We will have a gigantic playlist of fantastic 80s music of all types
- There will be butcher paper signs hand-painted with poster paint! (Nostalgia!)
- Remember the experience with pictures from our photo booth
- Our classes will also honor our departed members. If you know someone you would like to make sure is mentioned, please reach out on Facebook or include a mention with your donation.
We encourage you to bring memorabilia to share: uniforms, school projects, pictures, fads, memorabilia, etc. to display.
NOTE: BYOB! This is the only park in SLC that allows alcohol, but you must bring your own (or make pre-arrangements for sharing). Please drink responsibly and plan ahead for transportation accordingly.
